Malaysia Automotive News: Official Launched Date for Proton Preve on 16th April 2012

Recently is the day for those who is Proton lover. At Putrajaya, Datuk Seri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir (DSZ), had officially announced the name for P3-21A as Proton Preve. Not only the naming for the car, DSZ had announced the official launched date for Proton Preve on 16th April 2012.

According to DSZ, the actual pronunciation is 'Prae Vae'. The name of Preve is taken from English 'to prove' where in Malay is 'untuk membuktikan', which the main subjective is to tell the Malaysia citizen and the work of Proton able to produce a high standard car. 

Proton Preve comes with 3 different variants which are 2 versions for M-Line which equipped with 5 speeds manual and 6 speeds CVT gearbox, and coupled with CamPro 1.6L IAFM+. For the high end model, it equipped with 1.6L CFE engine which capable to produce 205Nm torque and 138HP and coupled with CVT Protronic 7 speeds gearbox.

Proton Preve will going to compete in segment C with other models such as Kia Forte, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla Altis, Nissan Sylphy and also the popular models -Toyoa Vios and Honda City. There are several new characteristics which those competitors do not have. Among them are 4 air bags,, paddle shifter, push start button, CVT transmission, more powerful engine, rear multilink suspension and the most important is the price set in between RM62K till RM75K only, whereby it is way cheaper than other competitors.
