Nice Kancil/Mira L2s Drag Machine

Recently found out a best drag car 2011 from the net and this is one of the Drag Machine owned by a member of Compact Motorsports - Consonar (CM77). The car is built by ADD Garage from Shah Alam and the car still using the conventional way where there is no engine management used but still using the fuel regulator to setup the engine.

Another thing that I notice is the owner had painted the turbo housing to purple color. Maybe this will start the trend which to color the turbo housing. Let's wait and see in the future. For more pictures, please click the "Read More" button.

Malaysia Police Forces new Patrol Car

Recently our Malaysia Police forces have both themselves few new patrol cars. What model they have in mind now compare to the previous Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. It is the Forte, not pretty sure whether it is from KIA or NAZA. I do not have much specification of these Fortes, not sure whether they are the 1.6L model or the 2.0L model.

This make me has a question in my mind why our Malaysia Police forces do not opt for PROTON cars? This is because what I always think that Malaysia government sectors should always support local products, cars or any other stuffs.

Project Satria: Proton Satria 4G93T Oil Catch Tank Installation

As I promised from previous post here, I would like to share the steps on how to install an oil catch tank for my satria which equipped with a Mitsubishi Lancer GSR 4G93T engine.

It took me about 15 minutes to install the oil catch tank. It is easy to install but it is harder to find a suitable place to place the tank. For my case, I placed it just behind the headlamp where the radiator installed. So for the first step, try to figure out where you plan to place your oil catch tank.

What is an Oil Catch Tank?

An oil catch tank is normally used in turbo engine or those high revving engine where excessive blow-by (leakage past the piston rings) of air and fuel vapor occurs. This creates a positive pressure in the crankcase.

In order to release this pressure from the engine, car manufacturers have placed a valve on the engine block. This valve is known as a PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve. During engine operation, blow-by gases, as well as oil mist from the rotating components of the engine, pass through the PCV valve and are routed back into the intake for the engine to burn off.

The Formula Atlantic 240HP 4AGE 16 Valves

4AGE a well known Toyota 1.6L engine that normally people will think that it is from a Toyota Trueno/Levin AE86 or the 4AGE 20V from the AE1xx series. This is due to the famous animation cartoon - Initial D. From what I know off, a lot of people confuse this engine with the 20 valve silvertop used in the infamous panda Trueno in Initial D cartoon. Just to let you guys know that they are totally different engine. The Formula Atlantic has been a 16 valve throughout its 15 year career in these series while the 20 valve TRD silvertop was used in the Japanese counterpart used in Group A.

4G93T Modification From Mild To Extreme Part 1

Finally is time to write modify information for 4G93T. For all the first generation 4G93T owner (I am one of the proud owner :D), hope this modify information will help you all.

It is easier for a turbo engine to increase HP compare to NA (Normally Aspirated) engine. We can simple increase the boost slightly but not over the 4G93T limit. From my research, 4G93T original internal parts are able to withstand up to 100kPa (14.5PSI). With slightly increase of boost pressure, the original injectors, fuel pump and the ECU are still able to work as expected.

Chassis Reinforcement Information

When comes to modify a car, stability and chassis strengthening are always a MUST part to upgrade. High Performance Chassis Reinforcement, Strut Tower Bars, Lower Tie Bar, Stabilizer and Under Brace strengthen vehicle chassis are always in consideration. When you drive into a turn, your chassis flexes due to its size and weight. This prevents the suspension and steering from doing their job properly. With the addition of chassis braces, strut bars, tie bars, lower stabilizer and under brace reinforcement the car is stiffened and responds to your steering more predictably.
